Big Day Out

Sunday 11 October

We're bringing all of our congregations together in one place for one day. We're one church, meeting in different places most weeks. Every so often, it matters that we actually see that — that we stand in one room together and remember what we're here for: to see lives transformed on our campus and in our city, through Jesus Christ, for the glory of God.

10 am–3 pm
Haere-roa, 90 Ilam Rd
No regular services this Sunday.

(There will be a cost to cover morning tea and lunch: more info to come)

The Life Course

27 July–17 August

The Life Course is a free 4-week course that seeks to boil Christianity down to the basics and show how Jesus makes sense of life. It's a relaxed environment with some time to hang out and chat, a short talk, discussion time and Q&A.

Mondays, 7.30–9 pm
12a Ilam Rd
Supper included

Big Ideas Night: Baptism and the life of faith

Monday 17 August

Why does the Christian faith include physical signs at all? And what does baptism actually do? Join us as we explore baptism as a gift — a visible sign that shapes how we understand belonging, identity, and faith in Christ. We'll be working through these questions with Karl Deenick's book Washed by God: The Story of Baptism.

Monday 17 August, 7.30–9 pm
Riccarton High School staff room, 31 Vicki St

Prayer and Praise Night

Wednesday 26 August

Our prayer and praise nights are all about gathering as one church to lift one voice to our heavenly Father. We pause our Growth Groups for a week to devote our time together to prayer and song.

Wednesday 26 August, 7.30–9 pm
Haere-roa, 90 Ilam Rd

City Men social: robot building

Saturday 29 August

Men, join us for the EPro8 challenge — teams work together to design and build robots for a series of hands-on challenges. You don't need to be an engineer — it's simply a good chance to build something with a few guys you might not know that well yet, and have a laugh in the process. Max. 28 participants.

Saturday 29 August, 9 am–12 pm
Middleton Grange School
$5 pp towards World Vision

RSVP via the City Church Essentials WhatsApp group or contact Kadin Wood

Men's Christian Convention

Wednesday 9 September

Come along and hear Gary Millar speak from Romans 12:1-2 on how to be Christian men in a complex world. Join Christian men from across the region for an encouraging evening of good Bible teaching, good songs and prayer. Come early for an optional seminar on what it means to be gentle, along with a fish & chips dinner from 5.15 pm.

Wednesday 9 September, 7–9.30 pm
Optional seminar: 5.15 pm
La Vida Centre, 34A Hansons Lane

Fields Women's Getaway

25–27 September

Come away with the Fields Church women for a weekend of refreshment in God’s Word and time together, listening to TGCW21 talks on James and living steadfastly in faith.

Growth Groups
