Cornerstone Campus Church
Covid-19 Level 2 Update
20 September: We're meeting again in person this week. We will be using two rooms at Haere-Roa, so we don't exceed 100 in one space. You can still watch a live stream of our service here.
5PM Sundays at Haere-Roa, 90 Ilam Rd
We love Jesus, we love life, we love the Campus and we would love you to join us!
Campus Church is a church for the University of Canterbury. We're a community bringing faith and university life together. It's a place to explore the teaching of Jesus - so whether you're just asking questions or are a committed Christian, we'd love you to come along.
Being a student is an exciting time of exploration: new ideas, new freedoms, new friends, perhaps even a new city. Whether you're looking to deepen your faith through rich Bible teaching and fellowship, or exploring Jesus' claims for the first time, there is something for you at Campus Church.
What to expect when you visit
Arriving somewhere new for the first time can be intimidating! But we have a friendly team of welcomers who will greet you at the door and help get you settled.
Each week, the meeting starts at 5pm and includes singing, hearing challenging teaching from the Bible, prayer and time to connect with one another.
Straight after the meeting we enjoy supper together. There is also a dinner option on offer each week for those who are keen to keep hanging out.
Joining the family
If you're keen to plug in at Cornerstone, the best place to start is Newish Connect - a midweek group for people arriving at Cornerstone — a bit like a welcome lounge! Come join us as we look at different areas important to a healthy church and what the Bible says about belonging to God’s people. Find out more here.
Our Growth Groups are small groups that meet weekly to dig into the Bible, pray, care for one another and grow together. Each Growth Group belongs to a Cluster and each Cluster is unique!
- UniConnect: for students at UC and elsewhere. We focus on helping students find their place in university life and connecting faith with the ideas of the university.
- Network: for young workers. We have an emphasis on creating a community for people adjusting to working life and developing an understanding of Christian faith in the workplace.
- The Bridge: provides a great place for internationals at church. Each week there's a shared meal and plenty of opportunities to meet people from all around the world.
- Halls Connect: for students living in UC Halls of Residence. We run groups within the different halls to help connect new students with Jesus.
