We're moving to ChurchSuite
As our church continues to grow, we need good systems that help us care for one another well, stay connected, and serve together without things slipping through the cracks.
That’s why, over the past few weeks, we’ve transitioned to a new church-management system called ChurchSuite.
Why use church-management software at all?
Cornerstone is a church family — but we’re a large and growing one. Like any community of this size, we need some structure behind the scenes so that:
people are cared for well
communication is clear and consistent
serving teams are organised and supported
important information doesn’t get lost
A church-management system isn’t the heart of church life — Jesus is — but it does help us organise ourselves so we can love and serve one another more effectively.
Why are we moving away from Elvanto?
Elvanto served us well for a number of years. However, after being acquired by a larger company, its development slowed significantly, and it became harder to get the support we needed. Over time, it was no longer the best fit for how we function as a church.
Rather than wait until it became a problem, we chose to transition to a system that better supports our current and future needs.
Why ChurchSuite?
After careful consideration, we chose ChurchSuite because:
it’s more user-friendly for both staff and church members
it has a dedicated mobile app designed specifically for church life
it offers greater functionality to help people connect and stay involved
the software is actively developed and well supported
ChurchSuite helps streamline our admin behind the scenes, and also gives church members clearer access to the information that’s relevant to them.
What can you do in ChurchSuite?
Using the ChurchSuite app or web portal, you can:
manage your contact details (and your children’s details)
view your serving roster and submit unavailability (for you and your family)
stay up to date with church events
listen to our sermon podcast
connect with others in the church (with privacy controls you manage)
A note about the transition period
We’re currently in a handover phase, where some teams are using both Elvanto and ChurchSuite while everyone gets used to the new system. What this looks like may differ slightly between serving teams.
During this time, you may occasionally receive information from both systems.
If you’re unsure where to find your roster, service plans, or communications, the best first step is to check with your team leader.
We’re really grateful for the work team leaders are doing during this transition — please be patient as we all learn the new system together.
What you need to do now
If you’ve already received your My ChurchSuite invitation email:
make sure you’ve created your profile
download the ChurchSuite app from the App Store or Google Play
search for Cornerstone NZ to link to our church
take a few minutes to update your details and preferences
If you haven’t done this yet, we’d encourage you to do so as soon as you’re able — it really helps us keep communication clear and care for one another well.
