Our Campus Church is a congregation meeting at 7pm every Sunday evening at the UCSA Events Centre (The Foundry).
Campus Church has been meeting near the University of Canterbury for five years. We aim to be a growing community of Christian believers, who take the message of Jesus into our lives and into our world. We meet together to understand God’s Word and reflect on its implications for us together.
We are a university church—so we aim to speak to the issues raised by our context. This means we’re committed to seeking adult answers to adult questions. We encourage questioning, knowing that this is God’s world and that he isn’t taken aback by our questions. Yet we do it all with an awareness that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Ps 111:10).
We are a missional church—our particular mission is to serve the campus community with the news of Jesus Christ. That means we’re not just a gathering of people like us’; we’re gathered for a mission to proclaim Christ crucified and raised to our campus community. All our meetings reflect that commitment in a range of ways.
We’re a sending church—we seek to flood the world with godly and passionate graduates, well trained to communicate the gospel to a world in great need of Christ. We see university life as a unique window of opportunity to train the next generation of gospel workers, both in the church and in the marketplace.
